Identity theft? [Feb. 19th, 2006|01:18 am]
I'm glad I didn't cancel my free trial for Experian's credit monitoring service yet.

I was checking my e-mail when I got a notice of new activity on my credit file. I figure if anything I got a hard inquiry from Citibank for recently applying for a new card. But when I looked, it was a hard inquiry for Sprint/Nextel.

We just got T-Mobile in October, so I sure as hell didn't apply for Sprint (not that I'd want to anyway). So the only logical conclusion I can make is that the kids who mugged me last week are essentially stealing my identity, because they got my social security card.

This fucking sucks. A wireless line of service isn't going to show up on my credit report, unless they default on payments; or they could open up other lines of credit that *do* show.

i read this now over a month later but you need to clear that up. i work for sprint and if they did open a line under your number they will default on the payments without thinking twice just to be assholes.

if you want i can do any background work to clear it up being i live at work.
