I took my placement tests at the college on Saturday.|
94 in Reading, 96 in English... and 27 in Math. lmao So instead of taking just two required math courses, I have to take 5. >:( And if I'd only gotten 3 more points each on Reading and English, I could've placed into Honors College Composition. XP
Man I remember when I took the SAT/ACT, I got like perfect scores in the English/Reading sections, and I got like...... a 2 in Math. o_O They put effin Trig and Calculus on those tests, and when I took them I had only gotten up to Algebra I and Geometry.
When I took it, they worried because so many of us were taking Trig already and they knew the test went as high as Algebra and basic Geometry, and many of us hadn't seen Algebra in 3 years. Turns out the SAT math portion had about .5% math, 99.5% riddles that required little knowledge of any higher level math and simply needed an intelligent and quick problem-solving solution ala science. How rude. :(
Congrats on the high scores in English. I would've sucked just as hardcore in the math section if not worse. LOL
Congrats though on making it in! :)
I'm proud of youanyway... going back to college!
;_; Failing the college math test was the best thing I ever did. So instead I took Philosophy/logic. Damn near failed that, but it was a math credit.
Any way to retake those tests?
You can re-take them after 30 days, but it'd be pretty pointless to re-take the math portion when I'd just flunk it again anyway.
I have to take math prep classes before I can go on to the required math courses. Or any other math-credit course.
Hey, I haven't talked to you in forever and found your journal this morning. :) Do you mind if I add you? So much seems to have happened in your life since I last read one of your journals! You have a beautiful baby. :)
November is a funny month. I'm seeing a lot of old contacts I haven't spoken to in ages contacting me again. :)
How's Phoenix? I lived there for a few months back in the summer of 2001. Although a bit conservative for my tastes, I actually liked the area a lot. I managed to find crazy people like me out there anyway, so it was all good. :)
Me too, actually. :)
It's an interesting place! I never envisioned myself here, but I'm really enjoying it. Only been here about a month and a half. :) I love the cacti, haha.
