ROFL. I'm reading the laws on maternity leave for other countries... and someone bitching about Canada's benefits makes me laugh. I guess if you're eligible for the paid leave (which is easier to attain than in America plus ours doesn't guarantee pay), you get roughly 300-350 after taxes per week. They were bitching because "it's hard for parents to survive financially on that". Well, I don't imagine both parents would take extended leave.
Well, for some people, I dunno. But me, geez, even getting 300 a week (1200 month) is at least 2-3x more than what I make now! That would help me, rather than hinder! LOL |
