Why making friends after high school (or college) is nearly impossible [Jan. 20th, 2007|02:20 am]

I have found that after high school (or college), meeting new friends is hard. People make so many friendships and associations during their school years, that they either don't care, don't have the time, or whatever to make and maintain (new) friendships.

I can kind of understand, and it doesn't help I'm not good about keeping in touch with people (through any medium). But there's still many times when I make the effort to make time to hang out with new "friends", and they go "Yeah! We definitely have to do something, blahblah*call me*blahblah", but when push comes to shove, they fold. They become hard to reach, with a variety of excuses.

One of my favorite sayings lately is "If something is important enough to you, you'll make the time for it. No excuses (there better be exceptional reason if you do)". Guess I'm not important enough. Heh.

I dont think that's true. I didn't make really any friends in high school but i've made so many in college.
