Parental Independence [Feb. 1st, 2004|05:23 am]

[Current Mood |aggravatedaggravated]

If I hear one more time that "You're only 19/20... [more or less] don't rush in moving out (stay with your folks)", i'm gonna fucking scream.

I tell them they don't understand. What I mean is, yeah, they can understand your "typical" young adult wanting to break free from their parents, and gain independence... but when I say they don't understand, I mean they don't understand my particular situation.

I *need* to move out. I've been needing and trying to for 3 years. I've always been one step ahead in branching out to the 'real' world. This is just my time.

No, me and my mom don't have issues. Nothing more than your typical parent-child bullshit. This is just something we mutually agree upon and feel is necessary.

Why should I have to wait till i'm 25/30 years old to just start living on my own, anyway? I don't get it.

It's because it costs a LOT of money to move out and live on your own, and if you don't have a stable job, you can be seriously seriously fucked.

Re:

I don't want to appear as condescending, because i'm not.

Though... do you honestly believe I want to/am going to repeat my experience from California?

I know what I have to do before moving out. I may have made some mistakes before, but that doesn't mean i'm stupid and don't know any better.

Re:

Actually, I didn't mean to say you didn't know. I was just saying the reason why they all tell us to stay at home as long as we can..

I feel the same way you do, I just said it all wrong. XD

Re:

*huggles* It's okay, I often misunderstand what people say sometimes, because usually i'm not sure how to interpret.

But you're right, though. <3

Re:

Heh. It's cool. It's a wonder you don't jump at everything people say, even if it's harmless, considering the amount of "good advice" you seem to get.

Do you just have this aura of inability? Do people flock to you to come to your aide?

I wish people would flock to me to aide me with my debt! XD Ha!

*takes your arms and dances*

I bitch wayyyy too much. But yet, even though I rant alot about who's said what to me, I don't care as much about what they think, as I seem to project. :P

But yeah, you've put into words perfectly what i'd been thinking but unable to properly vocalize. =\
